Song Shide (宋世德, 1857 – 1921), from Beijing City, was a student of Li Luoneng (李洛能) and the younger brother of Song Shirong (宋世荣, 1849 – 1927). The Song family resided to Taigu County of Shanxi Province for business reason in 1865.
Song Shide, a.k.a Song Furen (宋辅仁), together with his brother of Song Shirong, began their studies in Xingyiquan under Li Luoneng in 1866. Song Shide has been involved in the incorporation of Neigongsijing (内功四经, The Four Classics of Internal Practice) and other internal strength methods into the Song family Xingyiquan practice.
Song was a loner and loved to practice his martial arts skill alone. Song became a Buddhist monk in his 40s and began his journey of traveling around the globe which he has been to Korea and Russia. Song returned to Taigu County and lived in a temple in his later years.
As a loner, Song Shide has no apprentice apart from his immediate family members. Song Huchen (宋虎臣, eldest son of Song Shirong) and Song Tielin (宋铁麟, son of Song Shide) are the known successors of Song Shide’s Xingyiquan skill.
