Kahar and I (Dennis) has taken a morning off from the Ye Style Taijiquan workshop to visit the local Xingyiquan practitioners in Kuala Lumpur.
Kahar and I (Dennis) has invaded the training ground of Kuala Lumpur Xingyiquan practitioners in the morning of 26th December 2010. We have exchanged training methods, ideas, training and combat tips, we have also discussed the promotion, development and the future of Xingyiquan in Malaysia.
It has a fun, informative and harmonious morning session, as in Kahar’s own words: “It’s great to know somebody else in Malaysia who are (doing Xingyiquan) like us, we are not alone.” The only down side perhaps was that I was having a really bad headache and fever during the meeting.
Kuala Lumpur Xingyiquan is organized by Goh Yu Loong which functions similar to Sabah Xingyiquan, a bunch of guys get together and train together just for the love of the art of Xingyiquan. Their Xingyiquan has a Shanxi lineage which was taught by Wang Deming (王德明) from Beijing, China. Kuala Lumpur Xingyiquan are currently training at the stadium of Kompleks Sukan Bandar Tun Razak once a week on every Sunday morning.
For those who are in Kuala Lumpur area and interested in Xingyiquan, you can contact Goh Yu Loong via email: gohyuloong@gmail.com
