Kenji: Tale of Guo Yunshen

The tale of Guo Yunshen in Kenji (拳児), a martial arts Japanese manga series written by Matsuda Ryuchi and illustrated by Fujiwara Yoshihide.

Once upon a time, there was a man from “the birthplace of Xingyiquan”, Shen County of Hebei Province, called Guo Yunshen.

Guo Yunshen begged Li Luoneng to teach him Xingyiquan, however, Li refused to teach Guo due to his aggressive character. Therefore, Guo peeped at Li’s training and self-trained in the simplest technique, Bengquan, for 3 years. When Li aware of Guo’s determination and passion in martial arts thought the above even, thus Li accepted Guo as a student.

Guo Yunshen had accidentally killed his opponent during a martial arts challenge match, and Gua was sentenced for 3 years in jail.

Guo Yunshen’s Xingyiquan was smaller in motion where his movements were limited by handcuff and footcuff during his jail time.

The mates of Guo Yunshen’s opponent were plotting to get a revenge from Guo upon his released from prison

Guo Yunshen defeated his avenger by utilizing his smaller motion Huxing (Tiger-Form) technique.
